Project Overview
REGEN magazine is a project made for the DES 394 course. It is a small publication for university students who play video games. This issue is focused on mental health in postsecondary, and speaks about the need to balance gaming with schoolwork and other interests.

Details:
To be more suited to the target audience, I built a visual identity inspired by gaming aesthetics which include: angular forms, cyberpunk influence, RGB-inspired colours, and bold typefaces. In an effort to get the correct tone, I conducted surveys and student interviews to have their insights on how they’re balancing gaming, academics, and hobbies. Through that, I discovered that students regard gaming with humour and amusement and use it to destress from mentally draining things in their life. I ensured that the content of the magazine would fit this view to be engaging to students who game. (Content includes RGB lights!)
